This is a 1931 Ford Model A Slant Window Sedan - This was the very last production run of the Model A Ford and only 3500 Slant Windows were produced
My winter project was the installation of a freshly rebuilt engine and drive train from the universal joint forward. Have also replaced a sagging front spring and now the car sits level in addition to that replaced all four shock absorbers.
2010 winter I completely replaced the entire brake system with the up-graded to cast iron drums and completely re-built the front end.
January 17th My Friend Dermot & I  began the re-assembly.  We made great progress the engine and transmission are now installed. Following are the progress pictrures.
January 18th Have the engine almost ready to fire up, found out I was missing the distributor lower shaft and starter mounting bolts so off to Brattons to pickup.
January 19th Picked up all my parts at Brattons plus purchased four new shock absorbers
January 26th Yesterday I installed all the new shocks, finished installation of all needed parts with the exception of the hood. This Saturday I will be firing her up for the 1st time
Presently The motor was brought to life on January 28, 2012 at 11:25 In the morning. This is now a Mechanically New 81 year old vehicle.

This picture was taken on April 14th 1931 Old Henry is behind the wheel of the milestone car which was the "Twenty Millionth" car manufactured and the final re-design of the Model A ford.

The design change was a slanted windshield, fuel tank redesigned to prevent leaks from vibration and all steel body constuction, yes wood was still used for the roof bows.


My car is exactly like this car and was also manufactured in April. The last Model A Ford rolled off the assembly line in November 1931.


My car is a real star ! The car was used in the recently released movie J Edgar that was directed by Clint Eastwood and the other Star was DiCaprio
